One of six siblings, Daniel Docherty certainly knows about carving out an individual path for himself. Taking inspiration from the likes of Andy McKee and Tommy Emmanuel, and using a wide variety of alternative guitar tunings, his elusive percussive finger style playing is a little piece of magic to behold. Lyrically, sonically the songs twist and turn to reflect the wild beauty of his native Scotland with the listener cast headfirst into the joyful confusion of the Cites through the passion of Daniel’s rich vocals. The solo released EP “This Holy Fire” in early 2015 launched the track “Colours” that sprang to #6 in the Spotify Viral chart in February and March 2016. Couple this with over a million views of a Scottish BBC TV performance supporting the release, it’s easy to see how Daniel’s fan base has organically flourished over the past year. Recently signed to PIAS after a jaw dropping performance at EuroSonic 2016, Daniel has followed up with sold out shows in Glasgow, London, Amsterdam, Rotterdam and a 3 date tour starting in Rome. Currently Daniel is recording a new EP in London with producer Ian Grimble, expected to be released in the spring of 2018.
